Or avvenne che, mentre egli si trovava in disparte a pregare, i discepoli erano con lui. Ed egli li interrogò, dicendo: «Chi dicono le folle che io sia?».

Ed essi, rispondendo, dissero: «Alcuni dicono Giovanni Battista altri Elia ed altri uno degli antichi profeti che è risuscitato».

Ed egli disse loro: «E voi chi dite che io sia?». Pietro allora, rispondendo, disse: «Il Cristo di Dio».
